Hey guys, Property Search... Think Gladfish. I'm Brent Alegre-Wood, and this is Property Rant.
So today's question, now isn't the right time to invest. And this is really an excuse, an objection, something that we hear all the time when the sales guys are talking to investors. Now isn't the right time. And what I would say to you is, "When? When is the right time?" Because see, at any stage of the market, you can come up with an excuse. You can come up with a reason. How many times are you going to use this excuse? "Now's not the time."
See, Tony Robbins talks about the quality of your life is directly linked to the quality of your questions. So my questions to you is ask yourself a better question. And the better question is, "How can I invest and make money in this market?"
So it's about getting a better strategy. It's about getting better or a better understanding of the rules that apply to the game in this market. So it's never about now not being the right time. Now is the right time to invest, because now is the only point of power you have. Now is the only time you can take action. Everything in the future is procrastination. Everything in the past is gone.
So now is the only time we can do that. So the question you ask yourself is, "How can I invest?" And when you ask that question, you now open yourself up to the potentiality, rather than closing yourself down and saying, "It's not the right market now." So the key here is really about going, "Right, how can I invest?" So you have to know the rules of the game.
The rules that apply to property investment or whatever it is you're doing, whether it be hotel rooms or Spanish property or Australian property or whatever it is that you're doing, your specific, if you like strategy. And then you have to understand the market that that applies, because the whole key to this is...and this is the real crux of this, now is the best time to invest. There's no other time to invest.
The question is how can you invest and make money in this market? So you need to know the rules of the game. You need to know the strategy that applies to the rules of that game and the you need to know what's going on in the market, the current phase of the market and where it's likely to go to. When you understand all that and put it all together, and I'm not saying rush in, but when you do that, then you can invest confidently and know you're going to make money in any market, and that's the key skill to being a professional investor.
It's not someone who gets in and gets out and just invests in one phase of the market, it's someone who can broadly make money throughout the whole process. And you know what? That doesn't mean that...for instance, I'm a buy and hold person. So there's times where my property don't make money for me, but that's fine.
So what do I do? I have multiple properties in different markets so that when this market's doing really well and this market's doing terribly, I can go to that market. I'm making money overall. See, that's a different way of looking at it. That's not me saying, "Ah, now's not the right time to invest." Now is the right time to invest. Ask yourself a better question.
