The current Birmingham Repertory Theatre (The REP) opened in 1971. Birmingham Repertory Theatre, commonly called Birmingham Rep or just The Rep, produces a theatre based on Centenary Square in Birmingham. Ikon Eastside

Ikon is an internationally acclaimed art gallery situated in Birmingham. Housed in a magnificent neo-gothic school building, it is an educational charity. It encourages public engagement with contemporary art by exhibiting new work in a context of debate and participation. It offers free entry to all. The gallery programme features artists from around the world. A variety of media is represented, including sound, film, mixed media, photography, painting, sculpture, and installation.

Vivid Projects

Vivid Projects is a non-profit company supporting media arts practice. Founded in 2012 and based in Birmingham, it encourages innovation, risk, and experimentation in artistic practice. Committed to a diversity of course and promote historical and contemporary engagement with cultural and sub-cultural histories.

The space has been regularly hired by a wide range of creative companies, musicians, and artists, including ACM Ensemble, Flatpack, Fierce, Capsule, SOUND kitchen, universities, Scalarama, and famously for Peaky Blinders casting! 

Artists and students who need support to develop production or test work in progress may visit the place and contact a personnel for advice on reduced costs.

Bullring Shopping Centre

Bullring is the showcase of Birmingham’s retail therapy offerings and is one of the UK’s most visited shopping centres located in the very heart of the city. The centre has over 200 shops, including two department stores, Selfridges and Debenhams, and over 28 places to dine.

Connected by Bullring’s Link Street, Grand Central Birmingham is a state-of-the-art retail and restaurant haven, highlighting Eastside Birmingham Shops and Leisure scene. Home to one of the largest John Lewis department stores in the country, offering more than 350,000 products, including fashion, furniture, homewares, beauty, and the latest technology.
