At Garforth Academy, the number of high-achieving pupils rose by 10% to 80%. The school’s principal, Andy Woodhouse, said at the time, “Garforth Academy are very proud of the achievement of our young people. The 2015 results were the culmination of the positive work ethic displayed by the students supported by hardworking staff and supportive parents and carers.”

In the last round of Ofsted inspections, six secondary schools in Leeds were rated as ‘outstanding’. These are Garforth Academy, Roundhay School, St. Mary’s Menston, The Farnley Academy, The Morley Academy, and West Oaks SEN Specialist School and College. Additionally, a further 24 schools received a rating of ‘good’.
